0.8.2
LatestNew Features
- Import CSV as New Table: From the sidebar menus, DbCat infers each column's type from the file, lets you edit the column definitions, then creates the table and imports the rows. SQL databases only.
- Existing Rows on Import: CSV and MongoDB imports can fail, skip existing rows, insert or update them by primary key or
_id, or overwrite whole rows. Where a database cannot do this, the option is disabled and the reason is shown. - Import Errors: Stop, or skip bad rows and continue. Stop rolls back a SQL import; Skip lists the first 20 skipped rows in the result.
- Empty Table Before Import: CSV and MongoDB import dialogs can clear the existing table or collection first, after a confirmation.
- CSV Encoding: Choose the file's text encoding, such as UTF-8, UTF-16, GB18030, Big5, Shift_JIS or Windows-1252. A byte order mark takes precedence. Decode errors report the line.
- Import into New Collection (MongoDB): From the "+" menu, the Collections folder or a blank-area right-click.
- New Collection (MongoDB): Create a collection from the "+" menu and the Collections folder menu, the same entry points as New Table.
- Export Query Results (MongoDB): Export results as CSV or JSON, or export a collection with its current filter from the tab's bottom bar.
- Back Up / Restore in the Title Bar: SQL and MongoDB workspaces have Back Up and Restore Database in the ⋯ menu. The overview's Restore row is hidden when the connection is read-only.
- Views in the Sidebar: Rename and Drop View from the right-click menu, and New Query on tables and views.
- Redis Key List Menu: Right-click a blank area of the key list for New Key and Refresh.
Improvements
- Remembered Database: Connections with no database set reopen on the database you used last, for PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, ClickHouse, MongoDB and Redis. If that database no longer exists, DbCat opens the default one.
- Keep Your Place: After a commit or refresh, table and query grids keep the selected row and scroll position, matched by primary key or
_id. Redis key views and the Structure tab also keep their place after a reload. Paging, filters, sorting and switching tables still reset the view. - Structure Type Picker: Type, default and extra cells have a visible dropdown, using the same type list as New Table. SQL Server types are included.
- Inline Text Editing: Short single-line TEXT values edit in place. Long or multi-line values still open the editor.
- Import Progress: CSV and MongoDB JSON Lines imports show progress as a percentage of the file read.
- Background Notifications: Backup, restore and import results that finish while DbCat is in the background post a system notification.
- Pinned Dialog Footers: The import, backup, restore, export, create-table and query-parameter dialogs keep their buttons visible in short windows.
- Connection Marker: The connection color tints the tile itself, and the active item has an outer ring.
- Plan Graph Warnings: Warnings show as icon badges with a tooltip, so operator names keep their room.
- Wide Tables: The details panel and MongoDB JSON and tree views redraw less when the table refreshes.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed shortcuts such as ⌘S, ⌘I, ⌘F and ⌘↵ stopping working after focus moved to the workspace in SQL and Redis tabs.
- Fixed a menu or picker closing without returning focus to where it was opened from.
- Fixed Esc in the paging popover applying the change instead of closing it.
- Fixed the window order after session restore depending on which connection finished first.
- Fixed the ClickHouse overview showing "Data 0 B · Index 0 B" when only a total size is reported.
- Fixed CSV import reporting the same file read error repeatedly; the row-by-row retry now shows progress and can be cancelled.
- Fixed default-value suggestions not following the column type.
- Fixed the import dialog footer hiding Import in short windows, and long type badges hiding the column name.
0.8.1
New Features
- Redis Database Overview: With no tab open, a Redis connection shows key statistics, sampled key types, the biggest keys, the key space and quick actions.
- MongoDB Database Overview: Shows collections, documents, size and the largest collections, with Open collection and Backup actions. Views are skipped, and databases with more than 500 collections are not supported.
- Connection Type Picker: New connections start from a grid of database logos; one click opens the form. Aliases such as
pg,mssqlandmongowork in the search box, and pasting a connection URL opens a prefilled form. - Separate Theme per Appearance: Choose one theme for light mode and another for dark mode from swatch cards that preview the real colors.
- MongoDB Index and Validation Pages: Indexes and validation rules are now independent pages. Indexes show usage (operations and since) and a building flag; validation rules have a live preview with sample passing and failing documents and a capped violation count.
- Redis Key Detail: A key opens with its name as an editable title (rename in place), type, TTL, length, encoding and memory chips, and a member table beside a value pane.
- MongoDB and Redis Backup / Restore Dialog: They open in the same dialog as SQL backup and restore and share one progress and result view.
Improvements
- Backup and Restore: Backup and restore show determinate progress (percent, elapsed and remaining time, per-object state) and finish with a result view (time, file size, path, Show in Finder). The object list shows estimated rows and size. Connection and database pickers sit at the top of one dialog, with no Next step.
- New Table Dialog: Columns are edited in a compact table with primary-key badges and type presets; foreign keys and the SQL preview are collapsible, and ⌘↩ creates the table.
- CSV Import Dialog: Rebuilt with format and column-mapping cards, example values, a required-column check, a file preview, in-place progress and a done view.
- Welcome Window: Connection cards show when they were last opened, the list scrolls smoothly with group titles, and Enter in the search box connects.
- Themes: Each theme family has its own categorical chart palette, and light themes use a tinted canvas with white cards.
- MongoDB and Redis Admin Pages: Server, process, index and session pages use stat cards, opcounter rates and soft state badges, and system sessions are hidden.
- Connection Form: Server fields come first, the AI access setting matches write protection, and the host field is focused on open.
- Statement Previews: Approval and confirmation dialogs show statements in a highlighted, selectable SQL view with a fitted height.
- SQL Console: Shows the log in a read-only highlighted SQL view with an empty-state hint and a source tag on statements issued by the app. It keeps its scroll position when scrolled up, and follows new output only when at the end.
- AI Access (MCP): Row estimates only gate automatic writes, harmless DDL such as CREATE and COMMENT is no longer reported as destructive, and the approval dialog is simpler.
- Result Grid: Rows share one vertical center, structure columns fit the visible width, status values are pills, and the bottom bar turns tool labels into icons before collapsing structure sections. Cell and row menus have icons and a Copy As submenu.
- Table Details: Table sizes and the row estimate appear as stat cards; the empty comment is hidden.
- Backup Dialogs, Export Dialog and Preferences: Consistent headers, card widths and segmented controls; the MCP preferences page groups clients and connections in cards.
- Sidebar: New-object menu items use the same icons as the tree, and the right-clicked row stays highlighted while its menu is open.
- Bar Chart: The value axis lands on round ticks, like the line chart.
- MySQL Errors: Connection and IO failures read as plain English, for example "Could not connect to host:port: reason".
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the Redis overview showing English text in Chinese and the reverse, and unreadable byte sizes and uptime.
- Fixed dark-mode logo tiles for MySQL, SQLite, DuckDB, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, CockroachDB and SQL Server.
- Fixed the MongoDB index and validation panes failing to load, index columns squeezing the keys column, and the validation preview not refreshing after a revert.
- Fixed MongoDB views showing statistics and allowing new indexes.
- Fixed Enter in the AI rejection reason box closing the dialog without recording the rejection.
- Fixed the cell editor opening with the caret at the start.
- Fixed the welcome window's last-opened time clipping.
- Fixed Redis member table columns not fitting their content, and numeric member columns not right-aligning.
- Fixed the ER thumbnail not drawing table names, and MongoDB search saying "tables" instead of "collections".
- Fixed Redis and MongoDB stat cards not aligning in one row, and Mongo index and validation pages showing row statistics in the bottom bar.
0.8.0
New Features
- Indigo Theme: A new default theme family for new installs, with a deep navy dark mode and an indigo accent. Existing users keep the theme they chose; Cupertino, DbCat and Dawn stay available.
- Result to Chart: Query results can be shown as a bar, line, pie or single-value chart, toggled next to Data. DbCat recommends a chart from the column types. A
-- chart:comment sets it explicitly. - Chart Export: Copy a chart as an image, or export it as PNG or SVG.
- ER Diagram Export and Join Paths: Export the ER diagram as SVG or PNG (2×), or copy it as an image. Pick two tables (⌥-click or the toolbar) to highlight the foreign-key path between them, then open a ready-made JOIN query with ⌘↩.
- Built-in Sample Database: A SQLite sample database with five related tables and 18 months of orders. Open it from the empty connection list, the welcome sidebar or the Help menu. The overview offers "Try these" items, including two charts and an ER diagram.
- Database Overview: The empty content view shows database statistics, the largest tables, recent queries, quick actions and an ER thumbnail.
- Typed Result Grid: Tables and query results show booleans as checkmarks, dates and times with the time part muted, compact JSON previews and colored status values. Column widths fit their content.
Improvements
- Chart Axes: Value axes use round ticks, and large numbers are abbreviated (for example 1.2M). Charts have a legend and a settings popover for their axes.
- Categorical Colors: Every built-in theme now has a categorical palette for charts and ER tables, so tables are no longer all blue. Red and green stay reserved for status.
- ER Diagram: Each table has its own color with a header stripe. Selecting a table no longer dims the others, and view changes animate (instantly with Reduce Motion).
- Query Plans: Plan cards are more compact, and a new plan fits the window on first view.
- Motion: Query results fade in, and plan nodes appear in sequence.
- Table Stats: Table sizes and row counts for a whole database are read with one metadata query. SQLite uses
sqlite_stat1for row counts when the database has been analyzed. - Keyboard Access: Overview rows are focusable buttons: Tab reaches them, and Enter or Space opens them.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed MySQL
EXPLAIN,DESCRIBEandANALYZEbeing cut short by the session row limit, which added an extra Limit node to plans and shortenedEXPLAIN ANALYZEruns. - Fixed SQLite overview showing 0 B for index and total size.
- Fixed SQLite table details showing no row count.
- Fixed running a query leaving the completion popup open.
- Fixed the sidebar width changing when the details panel appears or hides.
- Fixed the connection form flickering while a connection test or save runs: the previous result stays until the new one arrives, quick results no longer flash the bottom bar, and a late result no longer overwrites a form you have since changed.
- Fixed the bottom bar of narrow table views clipping the row count and timing.
0.7.3
New Features
- AI Access via MCP: DbCat has a built-in MCP server, so AI tools can work with the connections you open to them. Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and Antigravity can be added in one click from Settings → MCP; other tools can use a copied command or JSON. Reads run directly. Writes wait for your approval in DbCat, and ordinary writes can be allowed per connection. AI tools start DbCat in the background when they need it, and reconnect after DbCat restarts or MCP is turned off and on.
- Copy as URL with Password: A new context-menu item copies a connection's URL including its password, taken from the keychain or from the password you typed this session. Plain Copy as URL still never includes the password.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed two sets of window buttons being drawn on Windows.
- Fixed title-bar controls overlapping and the close button being pushed out of narrow windows. The title bar now collapses step by step as the window narrows: on Windows the menu bar becomes one menu button, back and forward hide, and the search box and mode pill shrink.
- Fixed Windows upgrades and uninstalls failing with "DeleteFile failed; code 5" while an AI tool was still running DbCat's MCP bridge. The installer now stops the bridge first.
0.7.2
New Features
- Windows Auto-Updates: The Windows version checks for new versions and offers to install them, like the macOS version. Automatic checks are on by default. Windows users who installed 0.7.0 or 0.7.1 must download and install 0.7.2 once from the website; updates arrive automatically after that.
Improvements
- Schema-Aware Completion: Tables in schemas owned by an extension (such as TimescaleDB's
_timescaledb_catalog) no longer crowd unqualified FROM completion. They appear after you type the schema name. On PostgreSQL, extension-owned schemas are listed in their own group after your schemas. - Wider Completion Menu: The completion menu is wider, so long table names are no longer cut off mid-word.
- Large Results: Showing or switching a large result no longer copies its whole row set on the interface thread.
- Safer Window Close: Closing a workspace window with the window button asks before discarding uncommitted changes.
- Smaller App: The Apple silicon app binary shrank from 95.7 MB to 81.6 MB.
- DuckDB Backup Unavailable: DuckDB database backup and restore are temporarily unavailable: they downloaded a Parquet extension on first use, which failed offline and on Windows. They will return in a later version.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a running statement continuing after its tab, window, or connection was closed.
- Fixed connection pools and SSH tunnels staying open after a workspace window was closed with the window button.
- Fixed completion showing results from a previous target, and failed lookups being cached.
- Fixed stale sidebar connect and schema-list results, and auto-refresh starting again while the previous refresh was still loading.
- Fixed striped tables still showing empty filler rows for a moment when results first load.
- Fixed double-clicking the cell you are editing in query results replacing what you typed with its original value.
- Fixed DuckDB files held open by another process on Windows not being detected as locked.
- Fixed
~\not being expanded in path fields on Windows.
0.7.1
New Features
- Windows Installer (Beta): DbCat for Windows 11 (x64) ships as a per-user installer. Passwords are kept in Windows Credential Manager, SQL Server Windows authentication is supported, and ssh-agent works through the OpenSSH agent or Pageant. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows a warning on first launch: click "More info", then "Run anyway". Windows does not update itself yet; download new versions from the website.
- Execution Plan Graph: The execution plan view has a graph mode with node cards, heat colouring relative to the hottest node, zoom and fit, a colour legend, a node detail panel, and keyboard navigation. Each node shows its self time and cost.
- Report an Issue with Details: The bug report form opens with the app version, OS build, and CPU architecture already filled in (macOS also reports whether the app runs under Rosetta).
Improvements
- Title Bar Tooltips: Title-bar tooltips open below the buttons, so they no longer sit under the traffic lights. Database kind menus show each kind's logo, and the current kind is marked in bold with the accent colour.
- Windows Shortcuts: Shortcut labels use Ctrl on Windows (for example Ctrl+S), and the interface follows the system display language.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a crash when closing a window (including right after connecting) on Macs with a Touch Bar (#1).
- Fixed striped tables showing their empty filler rows seconds after the data appeared.
- Fixed query history growing without limit: statements over 256 KB are no longer stored, and oversized older entries are dropped.
- Fixed config file reads blocking the interface when a workspace opens.
- Fixed SQL Server Windows-authentication failures being reported as query errors instead of login failures.
0.7.0
New Features
- Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts: Preferences has a Shortcuts page that lists every command by category. Record a new key combination in place, reset one command, or reset all of them; the menu bar follows your changes. The Redis new-key shortcut stays fixed.
Improvements
- Preferences Layout: Settings are grouped into cards with page icons, descriptions, and hints. Resetting a page restores its defaults.
- Shortcut Display: Key combinations are shown as clearer key caps, and global search also finds commands on the Shortcuts page.
- Cell Editors: Cell editors take keyboard focus as soon as they open.
- MariaDB Expression Indexes: The structure editor refuses expression indexes on MariaDB, which does not support them, and says so.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed input placeholders staying in the previous language after switching the interface language.
0.6.0
New Features
- Valkey, TiDB, CockroachDB & DuckDB: Connect to Valkey (its own version is shown), TiDB (distributed, MySQL-compatible), CockroachDB (distributed, PostgreSQL-compatible), and local DuckDB
.duckdbfiles. Backup and restore work on TiDB, CockroachDB, and DuckDB too; DuckDB backups use its nativeEXPORT / IMPORT DATABASEfolders. - DuckDB Data & Structure: Browse and edit rows in place (tracked by
rowid), run queries with chunked streaming and cancellation, design table structures, and create tables with auto-increment sequences. On DuckDB, changing a column's name or type, or dropping a column, on a table with secondary indexes requires dropping those indexes first (an engine limit). - TiDB & CockroachDB Execution Plans: The execution plan view supports TiDB (
EXPLAIN FORMAT='tidb_json') and CockroachDB, showing operators, costs, and runtime statistics as foldable trees. - CockroachDB Sessions & Users: See running queries and sessions, cancel or kill them (the confirmation shows the exact statement that will run), and manage users, grants, and default privileges.
Improvements
- Consistent Backups: On MySQL, MariaDB, TiDB, PostgreSQL, and CockroachDB, a backup reads every table from one point in time, so related tables stay in step. On TiDB, a long backup holds back garbage collection while it runs. If some tables use a non-transactional engine (such as MyISAM), the completion notice lists them.
- Copy Buttons: Truncated names, statements, and column types show their full text in a hover card with a copy button. Statement previews get a copy-all button, and error messages get a Copy action.
- Table Tabs: A single click opens a table in the preview tab, and double-click pins it. A new table loads without a blank frame, and its key icons and column types appear together with its first page.
- Row Number Menu: Right-click a row number for a row menu. The favorites list shows only the current connection's favorites.
- CSV Import into Binary Columns:
0x…,\x…, andX'…'values import into binary columns as bytes, so a CSV exported by DbCat imports back unchanged. - Connections from Newer Versions: Connections this version cannot read are kept on disk and written back unchanged. The Welcome status bar shows how many there are.
- Restricted Accounts: On MySQL, MariaDB, and TiDB, the Users & Privileges page is disabled with an explanation when the connected account lacks permission to manage users, instead of failing on save.
- App Icon: The app icon uses the navy variant.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed SQL Server failing to set a binary cell to NULL (error 257) or to import NULL into one.
- Fixed MySQL, MariaDB, and TiDB reading
VARBINARYcolumns as text instead of raw bytes. - Fixed TiDB backups making restored tables jump ahead in auto-increment IDs.
- Fixed TiDB view backups keeping the source database name, and restoring tables with
AUTO_RANDOMcolumns failing on explicit inserts. - Fixed CockroachDB backups rewriting sequence defaults (
nextval) tobigserial. - Fixed PostgreSQL and SQL Server tabs reopening in the wrong database after a restart. The session now records each tab's database.
- Fixed a table's error from the previous table showing under the newly opened table's title.
0.5.0
- SQLite Whole-Database Backup & Restore: Back up SQLite databases to SQL files and restore them into another SQLite file. Supports tables, views, indexes, triggers, auto-increment sequence counters, and virtual tables (including FTS5 full-text search), with schema-only, data-only, or full backups accessible from the sidebar, File menu, and Welcome window.
- Copy Table for SQLite & SQL Server: Duplicate existing tables along with their schema, constraints, indexes, and data on SQLite and SQL Server. Constraint and index names are automatically renamed to avoid name conflicts in the schema, and auto-increment / identity values are preserved. Foreign keys and triggers are not copied, as with the other databases.
- Foreign Keys in Table Designer: Visually define foreign key constraints when creating new tables on MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and SQL Server. Select referenced tables and columns with search and self-referencing support, configure ON UPDATE and ON DELETE cascade rules, and validate definitions before creating.
- Enum Dropdowns for PostgreSQL & ClickHouse: Columns using PostgreSQL ENUM types or ClickHouse Enum8 / Enum16 now present convenient dropdown menus with all valid options when browsing tables and editing query results in-place, matching the existing MySQL experience.
- Cancel Ongoing Connections & Dialog Polish: Cancel connection attempts anytime from the Welcome window list or by clicking the spinner on the connection rail, and cleanly interrupt Microsoft Entra ID browser sign-in without error dialogs. The Backup dialog schema group headers now support keyboard navigation (Tab and Space).
- Write Protection Levels: Connection write protection is now a four-step segmented control: Allow writes, Confirm risky, Confirm writes, and Read-only. The new "Confirm risky" level allows routine writes to run uninterrupted while requiring confirmation for high-impact operations (such as
DROP,TRUNCATE,ALTER,RENAME,GRANT/REVOKE, whole-tableUPDATEorDELETEwithout aWHEREclause, and empty-filter MongoDB deletions) or terminating active sessions. Picking thestagingpreset tag on a new connection automatically selects "Confirm risky", andprodselects "Confirm writes". - Fix Data-Modifying CTE Detection: Fixed an issue where PostgreSQL data-modifying Common Table Expressions (such as
WITH ... DELETE ... RETURNING) were classified as read-only queries and bypassed read-only connections and write confirmation. - Reorder Connections by Dragging: In the Connection Manager, drag a connection to reorder it — the other rows glide aside to show where it will land, and dropping it under a folder moves it into that folder. ⌥⌘↑ / ⌥⌘↓ move the selected connection within its folder.
- Redesigned Password Prompt: The "ask every time" password dialog now shows the connection's logo, name, and address, has a show-password toggle, and submits the password exactly as typed (leading or trailing spaces are no longer trimmed).
- Fixes & Polish: ⌘W in a connection window with no open tabs no longer quits DbCat unexpectedly — it closes the connection and returns to the Connection Manager. With a split query tab, ⌘W closes the focused pane first. New Query / Redis Console / Pub/Sub tabs are numbered after the highest open one. MongoDB workspaces label collections as "Collections" and hint at mongosh syntax; completion highlights only the typed prefix. The ClickHouse logo no longer shows a black block, and the Cupertino Light sidebar is softly tinted.
0.4.0
- SQL Server Support & Authentication: Connect to SQL Server with SQL login, Windows (NTLM), Kerberos, or Microsoft Entra ID (password, service principal, interactive browser with PKCE, or access token). Supports TLS encryption modes (
Off,Preferred/Requiredwith self-signed certificates, CA verification, and hostname verification), SSH tunnels, and importing or copyingmssql://,sqlserver://,microsoftsqlserver://, andjdbc:sqlserver://URLs. - SQL Server Browsing, Editing & Structure Design: Switch databases on a connection like PostgreSQL, browse tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, and synonyms per schema (including built-in system objects in
masterandmsdb), and view ER diagrams. Edit table data in place in an atomicXACT_ABORTtransaction, or design columns, named default constraints, indexes (withINCLUDEcolumns and filter predicates), primary / unique keys, foreign keys, andMS_Descriptioncomments with full DDL preview. - SQL Server Query Execution & Execution Plans: Multi-batch scripts split on
GO(includingGO n), keeping variables and session state across statements, with TDS Attention query cancellation, timeouts, and row limits that leave your session and open transaction intact. Inspect visual estimated (SHOWPLAN_ALL) and actual (STATISTICS PROFILE) execution plans with foldable plan tree nodes. - SQL Server Users, Transfer & Process List: Manage server logins, database users, server and database role memberships, and
GRANT/REVOKEprivileges across databases, schemas, tables, functions, and sequences. Export tables to CSV, JSON, or SQL (with automaticSET IDENTITY_INSERT ON/OFF), import CSV files in batches, and view or terminate active sessions (KILL). - Connection Manager Redesign: Redesigned Welcome window with sidebar workspace views (All Connections with collapsible folders, Starred, and Recent), database type filter pills, search, and product logos across the connection list, connection rail, and sidebar cards. Tag connections with presets (
local, dev, test, staging, prod) or custom labels — pickingstagingorprodon a new connection enables write confirmation automatically — and use ⌘N, ⌘F, and ⌘1–⌘9 shortcuts. - Multi-Schema Backup & Restore Redesign: Back up multiple schemas of a PostgreSQL or SQL Server database into a single file, ordered globally across schemas so cross-schema foreign keys and view chains restore cleanly. Redesigned Backup and Restore dialogs group objects by schema with tri-state checkboxes, search, and dialect-specific options; PostgreSQL clean backups drop foreign keys before tables without
CASCADE, so objects outside the backup are never removed by cascade. - Welcome Window Backup & Restore Picker: The Backup and Restore picker in the Welcome window now lists actual server databases for PostgreSQL and SQL Server (connecting directly to the chosen database without disturbing open workspaces), supports searching databases, and routes MongoDB and Redis connections to their native backup and restore dialogs.
- Schema Switcher Grouping, Cross-Schema Completion & UI Polish: The database / schema switcher groups user schemas ahead of system schemas with browsable object counts, and SQL autocomplete suggests
schema.tablefor tables in other schemas on PostgreSQL and SQL Server. Empty tables keep their grid header without flashing, execution plan nodes can be folded or expanded, and closing a connection immediately releases its pooled server sessions.
0.3.3
- Separate Apple Silicon and Intel downloads: DbCat now ships one DMG per chip instead of a universal app, so each download is about half the size. The website offers the Apple Silicon build by default, with an Intel link below the download button. Automatic updates pick the right build for your Mac.
- ⌘W closes more windows: ⌘W now closes the Welcome, Preferences and New / Edit Connection windows. In a connection window with no tabs open, ⌘W closes the connection.
0.3.2
- Intel Mac Support: DbCat now ships as a universal app that runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs (macOS 12 or later).
- Theme & Appearance Redesign: Preferences now has a single Theme & Appearance page — light / dark mode, theme cards with large previews, and UI / editor fonts in one place. Customize syntax colors (with bold / italic) and data grid state colors (NULL, edited, inserted, deleted, selected) per theme and per light / dark mode, with a live preview of the SQL editor and a sample grid. Themes can be exported to and imported from JSON files.
- Simpler Welcome Window: The welcome window is more compact; connection actions are now in the right-click menu, and the "export / import all connections" menu next to the search field has been removed.
- Redis Sentinel & Cluster: Choose between Standalone, Sentinel, and Cluster modes when creating a connection. Sentinel mode resolves the primary node via sentinels with optional separate sentinel authentication, and automatically switches to the new primary with an in-app notice on failover. Cluster mode routes reads and writes by slot, scans keys across all primary shards, and groups staged commits by slot. A new Topology tab displays nodes, roles, slot distribution, and status; Server Info, Clients, Slow Log, Configuration, and ACL can be inspected per node, and ACL edits apply across all nodes. Supports importing
redis-sentinel://URLs (SSH tunnels are currently not supported for Sentinel and Cluster connections). - Unified In-App Notifications: In-app notifications are now consistently categorized into success, info, warning, and error styles. Error notifications no longer disappear automatically and require manual dismissal; duplicate notifications no longer stack up; and long-running tasks (such as import/export and backup/restore) deliver system notifications if they finish while you are switched to another app.
- Localization Fixes: A few menu items, column headers and labels that stayed in English in the Chinese UI are now translated (such as Explain in the Query menu, Host in Users & Privileges, Raw SQL in the filter bar, and Limit / Offset in pagination). Controls in the connection window, Users & Privileges, the export dialog and Redis pages are wider where English labels were cut off, and some overly long English labels are shorter.
0.3.1
- English and Simplified Chinese UI: The entire interface, native macOS menu bar, dialogs, and import/export workflows are now localized in English and Simplified Chinese.
- Follow System Language & Live Switching: Defaults to following your macOS preferred language, or switch between System, English, and 简体中文 in Preferences → General without restarting.
- Consistent Driver & Diagnostic Messages: Database driver errors, query validation messages, execution plan node names, backup header comments, and diagnostic logs now use consistent English text for easier troubleshooting.
